This week, The Pig is mostly…

Wishing the Menu Gordon Jones team hearty congratulations on bagging the Good Food Guide’s Restaurant of the Year award for the south west. Can Gordon go all the way to winning the prestigious Restaurant of the Year title, to be announced at the beginning of September? Team Pig thinks so – go, Gordon!

Urging Piggies who think they know all there is to know about Bath to indulge in a spot of staycation tourism at the Pump Rooms, open for dining every evening throughout July and August. If you’ve never seen the Roman Baths lit by flickering torchlight as the sun sets, now is the time to do it…and indulge yourself in one of the Heritage City’s most elegant dining experiences afterwards.

Still on the subject of staycations, The Pig is intrigued by Avon Valley Railway’s Steam’n’Cuisine experiences, offing all manner of gourmet Sunday Lunch menus and themed events including the Bitton Bistro service, murder mystery parties and Curry/Pie’n’Pint suppers from just £15pp. Choo-choo…chew!

Inviting Lady Luck to join The Pig at Cider Racenight at the Bath Racecourse on Friday 1 August, when the £30pp Cider Glider package includes a welcome drink, hog roast and live music by none other than The Wurzels. Altogether now: “I am a cider drinker…..” (etc, etc…)
