This week, The Pig is mostly…

Reminding all pro Piggies who are keen to participate in this year’s Great Bath Feast that the closing date for submitting those all-important Engagement Packs is Tuesday 1 July. No idea what we’re talking about? Get with the programme today! There an informal planning meeting in the pipeline too, set to take place on or around Monday 23 June – save the date, pro-Piggies, and watch this space for further details.

Eagerly anticipating plenty of top tippling opportunities courtesy of the Roman Baths Kitchen during their Apple Armageddon week, Friday 13-Saturday 21 June. Enjoy guest ciders, live music, a special cider-inspired menu and Cider Tasting Sessions with both Orchard Pig and Honey’s Midford Cider – see here for the full lowdown. Hic!

Delighted that Bath MP Don Foster has nominated the lovely Panahar restaurant on Moorland Road for the prestigious Tiffin Cup award, which aims to applaud the best South Asian restaurant in the country. This year’s competition will also raise much-needed funds for the World Vision charity – aw, what’s not to love? Good luck, Panahar!

Stocking up on freshly-baked goodies from the new Bertinet Bakery shop at 1 New Bond Street Place at every opportunity – if there’s a better way to start the day then munching on one of those fabulous almond croissants, The Pig has yet to discover it!

Looking forward to the Royal Crescent StrEAT event taking place on Sunday 22 June on the Royal Cres itself. There’ll be all manner of tasty nibbles and spiffing entertainment to keep attention levels up, and Superchef Martin Blunos will be judging the best street food on the day – yay! To keep abreast of all the necessary updates, follow @Royalcrestreat on Twitter.

Hoping that meat maestros (and smokehouse specialists) Grillstock make good on their vow to bring “Meat, Music and Mayhem” to Bath (The Vaults, SouthGate) at the end of June. Want to get involved? Grillstock are keen to recruit Bath-based staff in all manner of exciting roles both front of house and behind the scenes; visit their website for further info today.
