This week, The Pig is mostly…

…wishing former Marlborough Tavern head chef Richard Knighting all the very best for his new residency at The King’s Arms in Didmarton, just up t’road from Bath. Expect to sample an array Richard’s trademark seasonal delights served with flair…and gorgeous views to match (see pic for an example of the KA burger, highly recommended)

…talking of the Tav: having just enjoyed a shellfish and seafood blowout at this glorious gastropub, The Pig is now eagerly anticipating Burger Night (Tuesday 21 May) and Mussels Night the following week (Tuesday 28 May)

…lovin’ the brand new tapas menu recently revealed at Las Iguanas sister venture Pulp: perfect nibbles to accompany the cocky cocktails, currently trending at 2 for £8

…getting to (very tasteful) grips with Schabowy, Golonka, Pierogi and Kotley Mielone – the authentic Polish dishes that snuggle up very happily alongside Lovett Pies, fish and chips and quintessential British tipples from Abbey Ales at The Trinity on Camden Row, just off Kingsmead Square. If you’ve yet to say Witaj to the real taste of Polska, do it now!

…urging the sun to get his hat on again! The lush landscape that surrounds the Bath Spa Hotel, the hip alfresco patio at Circo, the buzzin’ terrace at the Allium Brasserie, the gorgeous walled garden at the Royal Crescent Hotel and the tables outside the Garrick’s Head all lie forlorn while we huddle indoors dreaming of mulled wine!
