The Pig Guide: onwards and upwards!

Pig Guide twitterati will have noticed that, over the last few weeks, we’ve been hinting at all manner of exciting developments and plans that have been going on behind the scenes at Pig HQ. Well, it’s now time to explain a little bit about those changes, who we are and how we aim to support Bath’s independent merrymaking sector.

The Pig Guide recently secured private investment funding from Nigel Locker, co-owner of local PR and marketing agency Bud UK Ltd, resulting in a collaboration that heralds an exciting new future for The Pig. Nigel brings a wealth of marketing and business development experience to the sty, which means that we can now offer all manner of affordable additional services to Pig Guide members. Nigel’s involvement also frees our editor Melissa Blease up to do what she does best: sourcing the hottest food-related news, views and opinions, writing about restaurants and interacting with Bath’s coolest chefs. Our thoroughly revitalised website offers access not only to regularly updated reviews of all the restaurants, bars and cafes that maintain Bath’s reputation as the jewel in the west country’s foodie crown, but also news of Pig Guide Supper Clubs, interviews with chefs and food producers and a local food industry-related ‘Jobs’ section. Next stop: dedicated listings for Bath’s best independent food and drink retailers and a Producers category – phew!

To celebrate all these developments and say thank you to all the people who have helped make these plans come to fruition, The Pig Guide will be hosting a little party in Gascoyne Place on Monday 6 October from 5.30-7pm.
