The fully-refurbished bar at the lovely Locksbrook Inn is now open for business and fully-stocked with a diverse range of wines, draft beers and cocktail making facilities. Spoiled for choice? The House Royal (sparkling wine with strawberry and rose vermouth – see pic) can’t fail to put a summer-infused spring in your step.
The Scallop Shell have recently launched their new upstairs bar and alfresco terrace, and have introduced a weekly-changing special cocktail to the already buoyant menu.
Works to the junction outside the Marlborough Tavern are finally finished, so peace has been restored. Meanwhile, head chef Jack Scaterfield has rustled up a brand new, summery menu to include dishes such as Chicken Kiev with rosemary and chilli butter; Tandoori fish with chickpea and coconut curry, cumin rice, cockle pakora and a poppadum; and North African stuffed aubergine with spiced tomato stew, grilled halloumi, harissa rice and coriander salad. Yum!
