Stuff that is making us very happy right now…

…in no particular order of preference; it’s just all good!

We can now have double portions of lovely, lively Olé Tapas, who have opened a vibrant, thoroughly exciting tapas bar (and full-on Spanish restaurant, coming soon) on Saw Close, supplementing their existing tapas hotspot on John Street. Olé indeed!

Chequers’ head chef Alex Betts has unveiled a new menu featuring dishes that are just too enticing for words! Having said that, we’ll be putting together lots of words about it when we go to check out the full array any day now. Meanwhile, this lovely, lively gastropub is also now offering a 2/3-course weekday set lunch menu for just £19/£23.50, which totally proves that infamous Gordon Gekko quote (keep up at the back, kids!) is officially totally redundant forever.

Brand new Mediterranean bistro and grill La Taverna has opened its doors at 83 Lower Bristol Road, bringing a lovely warm vibe and totally treatsome, home cooked food to an area of Bath that’s revitalising itself faster than the traffic lights can change.

Ippon! The Bath Pizza Co have announced a unique partnership with Bath-based Olympic Judoka Ben Fletcher as he prepares to compete at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. Now competing for Team Ireland, Ben is based at the University of Bath Sports Training Village and has become a Bath Pizza Co regular – read the full lowdown on this cool collaboration here.

The Gainsborough Bath Spa Hotel’s weekday 2-for-1 lunch menu at Dan Moon’s eponymously-named restaurant is back! 3-courses, 2 people, £34 – what’s not to love?

Castle Farm Cafe is open for supper every Friday and Saturday evening, offering fab, affordable, wholesome grub in a totally unique setting (see pic) – look out for our full review, coming soon.

Jan, the amazing food queen responsible for Trufflelicious (aka the creator of those delectable organic chocolate truffles that nobody can get enough of) now offers cookery classes, bespoke cookery demonstrations and catering services from her Great Chalfield HQ. Jan is also the driving force behind the inspirational @WiltsArtisans Twitter feed – good work, Jan!
