StreetSmart & Julian House: a call-out to Bath restaurants and hotels to sign up TODAY!
This winter, Julian House is partnering with StreetSmart: a charity initiative that’s been running for over 20 years and works with participating restaurants and hotels across the UK to raise vital funds for organisations working directly with homeless people. The scheme has raised over £8.2 million since starting in 1998… and it’s really, really easy to get on board in Bath.
The beauty of this innovative, highly effective fundraising scheme is its simplicity. During the Christmas period, a voluntary £1 is added to diners’ bills at participating restaurants around the Bath area. A small table card is placed on each table explaining how the scheme works and how the money raised is used, and StreetSmart’s experience has shown that less than 1% of customers decline to participate. At the end of each month (November and December), the £1 donations are passed onto StreetSmart, who in turn pass all the proceeds to Julian House… and every single penny raised makes a huge difference.
The scheme has been endorsed by some of the country’s finest chefs including Marcus Wareing and Angela Hartnett while in Bath, The Abbey Hotel’s Art Bar, Clayton’s Kitchen, Eight, Searcys, Turtle Bay and The Mint Room are already on board – so what are you waiting for?
Administration is super-easy; just click on this link and scroll down the page for all you need to know.
Run a hotel? Consider the option of asking staying guests to add a voluntary £1 to their bill after their stay, either instead of or in addition to the donation on restaurant bills.
