Spring has sprung at the Marlborough Tavern

Spring is here and the time is right for… moving in to the Marlborough Tavern, where the clever folk in the kitchen have recently revealed a sexy spring menu blooming with all manner of locally sourced, seasonal treats including the tantalising Textures of Cauliflower combination and a goats’ cheese and truffle tortellini (pictured) that’s poised to reawaken your tastebuds after the long winter hibernation. There’s very good news for piggies of a carnivorous persuasion, too: the Tav’s legendary Steak Night returns on the first Tuesday of every month, bringing a 7ozs rump steak, fries and salad to the table for just £12.50, with an optional bottle of Malbec to accompany it for just £10. Meanwhile, a dedicated Fish and Shellfish Night on Wednesday 19 April offers the opportunity to select three courses from a menu that includes crab cannelloni, sea trout served with crab and lime cake, stone bass with Jerusalem artichoke veloute and cured salmon options for just £35pp, the walled terrace/garden has undergone a bit of a facelift in readiness for a brand new summer season… and the burgers (on the Pub Classics menu) still deserve their pole position status on the Best Burger in Bath charts.
