Reasons to be cheerful…

This week, The Pig Guide is very happy because…

…we’re delighted to hear that, as of Sunday 3 March, the Scallop Shell will be open seven days a week – that’s our Sundays, sorted!

…we’re lovin’ the work of (and the amazing coffee served at!) Friends are Electric, a brand new, groovy little cafe, shop and creative consultancy based at 1 Grove Street, just off Pulteney Bridge.

…we’re gearing up for festival season: The Bradford on Avon Food and Drink Festival (Saturday 1 June), Pub in the Park (21-23 June) and Valley Fest (2-4 August)

…we’re really excited about the forthcoming new menu reveal at the recently-refurbished Griffin Inn.

…we’re eagerly anticipating getting all Thai-d up in the most tasteful way possible at the Marlborough Tavern’s tantalising Thai Night on Wednesday 20 March.

…we’re totally addicted to the croque monsieur, Gratin of Crozet with Tomme de Savoie and Comte croquettes with honey sauce on the menu at Comptoir+Cuisine, best enjoyed with a glass (or several) of Colin Blanche Castille Brut.

we’re keeping a keen eye on all the brouhaha buzz that’s building up around The Botanist, due to open its doors in The Octagon, Milsom Place (formerly Burger and Lobster) in late March.

…we’re awarding the falafel served up by super-friendly staff at Maureen’s Mediterranean Street Food (Green Park Station) a Pig Guide Gong of Greatness – it is, quite simply, The Most Fabulous Falafel EVER.

And last but most certainly not least:

…we’re planning a rather special Pig Guide event in association with our lovely friends at the splendid Royal Crescent Hotel… watch this space, Piggies!
