Nook Garden pops up at The Bird
The Bird (Pulteney Road) has launched its latest summer season pop-up, the Nook Garden. Open to all throughout the summer months, this south-facing chill out zone is full of flamboyant touches from creative planting to life-size sculptures and bright Balinese parasols, and offers beautiful views across the city, over The Rec and Bath Abbey beyond.
“We wanted to create an exciting alfresco venue for locals and visitors alike this summer,” said The Bird’s owner Ian Taylor. “After the success of the beach last year, we wanted to put a new spin on summertime 2019, and the idea of a visually enticing garden to appeal to groups of friends, families, private parties and hotel residents alike immediately came to mind as a fun and accessible way to make the most of our glorious space.”
The perfect relaxed spot for fun in the sun, summer cocktails from Peach Daiquiris to Pimm’s alongside fine wines from pale Provençal rosé to easy-drinking Pinot Noir, local draught and bottled beer and cider keep the party flowing at the bar, while food is served on Friday evenings from 5-9pm and all day Saturday from 12- 9pm – sourdough pizzas, vibrant summer salads, sweet treats such as Eton Mess and Marshfield ice-creams and plenty of snacks (think, fried calamari with lemon and garlic aioli, Scotch eggs with piccalilli and The Bird’s signature mini crispy buttermilk chicken fillet burger with onion rings,) and you get the general vibe on the food front.)
As with all Bird pop-ups, visitors will find a playful feel inside and out; there’s a focal point sculptural tree featuring lanterns that light up as the sun sets, while rugs and heaters keep the chills away if the thermometer plummets. Indoors, The personality-laden Roost offers further eating, drinking and lounging opportunities when the Great British Weather isn’t playing ball.
In the mood for a private party? The Nook Garden is available for private hire, perfect for seasonal get-togethers, celebrations or barbecues.
The Nook Garden is open from now all the way through to the end of September – and we predict that it’s swiftly set to become the ultimate summer in the city hotspot for the coolest merrymakers in town to flock to.Categorised in: News
