Mother’s Day at Country Living Lansdown Grove Hotel: luscious lunch, sparkling cream tea

Piggies who have been keeping up at the back will already be aware that Coast & Country Hotels have totally refurbished, revitalised and refreshed the handsome Country Living Lansdown Grove Hotel on Lansdown Road, transforming this elegant Grade-ii listed Regency building into a stylish oasis of sensual delight complete with gardens/big picture windows that offer stunning views across the city and a kitchen headed up by local superchef Martin Baker. We’re off to review Martin’s menus at the Country Living Lansdown Grove Hotel any day now, but if you fancy getting there before we do, might we suggest that you take a rather special lady along with you?

Mother’s Day (Sunday 31 March) at the Country Living Lansdown Grove Hotel offers two delightful options that are guaranteed to make mum’s day. The very special 3-course lunch brings super-seasonal dishes such as spring pea velouté with minted crème fraiche and smoked bacon shards, or blue cheese beignet with a pear and walnut salad to the starter array; pan-seared fillet of salmon with a watercress and Champagne cream or vegan/veggie fruit and nut roast with a peperonata spicy coulis sit very comfortably alongside two traditional roasts on the main course selection… and sherry trifle (yes!) and oven-baked rice pudding with strawberry jam vie for your attention at dessert time – at £25.95 for all 3-courses including a complimentary glass of fizz for mum at the start and tea or coffee with homemade truffles at the finishing line, it’s an offer you can’t refuse. Unless, of course, you fancy treating mum to the Lansdown’s Prosecco Cream Tea: oven-fresh scones with jam and clotted cream, a big slice of classic Victoria sponge and a flute o’fizz for the lady in your life for just £12.
