Independent Bath Market, Abbey Green, Sunday 21 May

Despite the fact that Abbey Green is partially (and fortunately, only temporarily) closed off right now due to various works etc going on around that beautiful, ancient tree, the brand new Independent Bath Market initiative – created by Silvana and John-Paul de Soissons, owners of the fabulous Foodie Bugle – will indeed go ahead this Sunday 21 May, marking the first of a series of markets that will be held from 10am-4pm on the third Sunday of each month from now until October.

The Independent Bath Market is a not-for-profit venture, with all pitch fees going to finance the event. Expect to meet, mingle and, of course, shop from local traders flaunting all manner of tantalising wares including ceramics, woodwork, books and stationery, homeware, glassware, clothes, fashion accessories. But what are we most looking forward to? Hanging out with those all-important local food- and drink-related heroes of course! Bath Soft Cheese, Iford Cider, Bath Organic Cake Company, Thoughtful Bread, Honey’s Midford Cider and the Three Bags Full delivery service represent just a taster selection of the tasteful shopping opportunities to be enjoyed, and they’ll all be at your service – and relying on your support! – on every market day. This little piggy went to market? You betcha!
