Dan Moon at the Gainsborough unveils new Tasting Menus

The super-hot, tasty news that we’ve been eagerly anticipating for a while now has just landed: Dan Moon – Hob God at the helm of his eponymous restaurant at the Gainsborough Bath Spa Hotel – has recently unveiled his new Tasting Menus… and to say they’re looking glorious is an understatement.

There are two Tasting Menus to choose from, both of which must be taken by an entire table with last orders at 9pm,

The 5-course feast costs just £60pp (optional wine flight – highly recommended – available for a £35pp supplement) includes intriguing sample dish delights such as chicken tea, textures of onion and smoked chicken breast; sautéed scallop, shellfish risotto, yuzu, king prawn and seaweed; roast Creedy Carver duck, confit spring roll, plum and sesame. The 7-course option, meanwhile (£80pp; optional wine flight £50pp) takes your voyage even further and, on the sample menus that we’ve got our trotters on, brings Jerusalem artichoke velouté, goat’s curd, black truffle and sherry vinegar gel alongside smoked fillet of beef, pané quail egg, duck liver pâté and fennel to the party. As for sweet stuff… we’d happily opt for seven courses of Dan’s dark chocolate delice, salted caramel ice cream, hazelnut and vanilla alone. But which menu is that one on?
