#CookForUkraine Bookshop Supper/fundraiser at Toppings Books, Thursday 19 May

On Thursday 19 May, those lovely folk at Toppings Books are hosting a UNICEF #CookForUkraine Bookshop Supper to raise much-need funds to help the people of Ukraine.

100% of the money raised will go directly to the fundraising initiative, founded by food writers Olia Hercules and Alissa Timoshkina to “increase awareness of the humanitarian crisis the world faces right now, as well as raise the funds needed to aid children and families in Ukraine who have been displaced by the current situation, those fleeing their homes and those in need of life-saving support inside the country.”

The menu (including cocktails from Odessa, Ukrainian Pyrizhky, Borscht, Black Sea Borek, Pampusky, Ossetian mutton and Sour Cherry and Apricot Pie) is planned around the recipes in some of Toppings’ favourite cookbooks from some of the authors who have long been friends of the bookshop, including, of course, Olia and Alissa, who will be joined on the night by Caroline Eden, resulting in a celebration of Ukrainian food, culture, and writing.

Tickets for the supper start at £50, but higher-priced tickets are available for those who are able to donate more to the cause. The ticket money will be donated in full as soon as the event is fully booked – so what are you waiting for? To book tickets, click on this link today.
