Celebrate British Oyster and Shellfish Weekend at The Chequers, Friday 9-Saturday 10 August

The taste-tide is forecast to be high at The Chequers on Friday 9-Saturday 10 August, when a very special menu designed to celebrate British Oyster and Shellfish Weekend by showcasing the very best catches of the day* is sure to make a splash.

Starting with the Oyster Bar (and why wouldn’t you?), Porthilly Rock Oysters – a bargain at £2 each – will be languishing on ice waiting to be bathed in your choice of dressing, including Shallot Vinegar, Leak Velouté or Thai.

Starters/Small Plates range in price from £5.50-£10 and include delectable dishes such as Cockles ‘Seaside Style’, Potted Shrimp served with Soda Bread, Dressed Cornish Crab and Salt and Pepper Squid, and mains (£13.50-£21) bring delights such as Classic Creamy Garlic and White Wine Mussels and Cornish Hake with Lemon and Dill Lentils and Brown Crab Mayonnaise (we sampled this on our most recent Tasting Menu review and it was simply divine) to the party.
