Bath gets StreetSmart for party season

Eight Bath restaurants including the Mint Room, the Allium Brasserie, Yammo! and the White Hart Inn have signed up to participate for the innovative StreetSmart intiviative: the national campaign run in conjunction with selected businesses to raise money for homeless charities. During November and December 2014, StreetSmart in Bath will raise valuable funds for Julian House courtesy of voluntary £1 donations added to the table bill at the end of meals in participating restaurants. As all StreetSmart’s running and operational costs are generously paid for by its sponsors and every penny in every £1 raised goes directly to the people who need it, participating party people have a great opportunity to make an invaluable contribution towards a very challenging social problem. As the period between now and Christmas will see huge numbers of diners heading out for meals, adding just £1 to your bill means that the cumulative benefit could be huge, potentially allowing Julian House to provide three meals a day for some of the most marginalised members of society in their main hostel. The Pig Guide is confident that there are many more businesses out there who want to join in with the scheme; if you’re keen to sign up (and really, why wouldn’t you be?), visit the website or contact Madeleine Waters on 01225 807477.
